I love flowers for many reasons.  They can make you smile, they smell beautiful and there are so many fantastic colours with different textures.

One of the memories I have is of my grandmother sitting in her chair and behind her on a mahogany stand was always a beautiful arrangement she had made.

My love of flowers has always been there and it wasn't until recently that I now spend many happy hours talking about them, growing them and arranging them for my beautiful home to be enjoyed by my boyfriend and Watson our dog.  Also giving them as gifts to my family and my friends.

In 2009 I decided to embark on my flowerscents journey, after having self taught myself and successfully coming 1st in the Novice Section of the Wellingborough & District Horticultural Society.  I enrolled and completed my first term of a flower arranging course in Weldon and embarked on some Saturday workshops held in Wellingborough and Irthlingborough.

My learning has just begun and my thanks go to Margaret and Timea.  Also thank you for the inspiration by the demonstrators at the Kettering & District, and Market Harborough Flower Clubs, their monthly demonstrations encourage and give me inspiration for my designs.....who knows one day I may be able to take to that stage.

In 2010 I have already successfully undertaken some wedding workshops, and a residential course in Oxford. I have been having fun entering many local shows and have recently taken part in my first National Show (NAFAS) held in Harrogate.  I spend a bit of my spare time working in a florists.

I am audtitioning soon to be accepted for the WI programme for Northamptonshire, taking part in my first demonstrators day and starting my NAFAS diploma this Autumn.

I am also proud to have been selected to serve on the committee for the Kettering and District Flower Club this year, and have also been asked to represent the Market Harborough Flower Club in the Area Show in September.

I would like to take you on my flowerscents journey and hope that you will find enjoyment from them too.

Amanda
